The Founding Story of
"Mountains All Around" 

Our executive director managed the first AmeriCorps project on the Blackfeet Tribe. Although the work was meaningful, the nagging problems stemming from a lack of economy, jobs, and housing, were significant. After a three-year stint, Mr. King decided to further his education and pursue a graduate degree. He vowed that if he ever returned to the reservation, he would explore ways to address those core issues. 
 
Flash forward to the present and Brian has returned to the Blackfeet Nation amidst a global pandemic and a devastating climate crisis. Mr. King has chosen to make good on his vow to address those significant issues. Now a father, Brian co-founded Mountains All Around with his daughter Jaya, and they added addressing climate change to their list of work in hopes of creating a better planet for future generations. Although the challenges are large there are many mountains all around us to provide strength and hope.
