Solar ~ Wind ~ Ecological ~ Sustainable
Our Phased Approach
The Urgent Need for a Path Forward
-
The devastating effects of a global pandemic on top of a climate crisis have exposed vulnerabilities in our food systems, housing, economy, and businesses. The need to act in a strategic and methodical way is needed now more than ever.
Phase One
Phase 1:
-
Proto-types. The first phase of the project is to develop two alternative energy prototypes that combine solar and wind power with agriculture (agrivoltaics) to address energy and food production needs for one home and one small business. (Two small grants have been received).
-
Start-up Phase: Initial funding will also allow our non-profit to establish itself on sound organizational principles, community mapping, board development, community networking, research and land lease navigation.
-
Dual Purposes: The use of agrivoltaics allows our organization to engage in a multilayered approach that includes the need to increase local production of community-grown food.
Steady Growth Towards
Resiliency & Sustainability
Phase 2:
-
Anticipates seeking funding to provide solar and wind energy along with growing local foods under solar arrays for a combination of 10 homes and businesses.
Phase 3:
-
Seeks to develop a sustainable community of 20 dual solar/wind powered homes growing their own food and selling both food and energy to local grocery stores and electric companies respectively.
Phase 4:
-
Seeks to develop a solar/wind factory and train local members to produce and install alternative energy systems for the second community of 25 homes. This will contribute well paying technical jobs to the local community.
Final Phase/Project Sustainability:
-
After phase 5 we anticipate the solar/panel factory will begin generating its own revenue stream to create our own sustainable organization to fund future projects.
